Transfer of Membership
The membership is non-transferable, except in the event of demise of a member. In such cases, the membership shall only be transferred in the name of the spouse, provided that such a request is received within one year of the demise of the member.
Absentee Membership
A member who is absent from his / her residence within a radius of 50 kms from the Club, for a
minimum period of six months and whose family do not use the Club during his/her absence shall be treated as an Absentee Member, provided previous notice of intended departure is given in writing to the Secretary.
Resignation of Membership
A member shall give notice in writing of his/her intention to withdraw from the Club and his/her name shall be removed from the list of members from the date of receipt of such notice, provided that all claims by the Club have been previously paid. The liabilities of a member who has withdrawn from the Club shall continue in force for a period of one year after the date of his/her resignation.
Termination of Membership
In addition to resignation of membership, a member shall cease to be a member of the Club in any of the following ways:-
a) By his/her being adjudicated insolvent.
b) By his/her being found guilty by a competent tribunal of an offence involving, in the opinion of the General Committee gross misconduct.
c) By not clearing his/her Club dues after the warnings as provided in Articles 23& 24 of Articles of Association for default in payment of Club dues.
d) By a decision of a majority vote of not less that two thirds of the members present at a General Committee Meeting especially convened for the purpose, and at which not less than twelve members shall be present.
Restoration of Membership
A member whose name has been removed from the list of members under the operation of these bye-laws may have his/her name restored to the list on application, provided the General Committee are of the opinion that for good and sufficient reasons his/her name ought to be restored thereto. The restoration shall however be subject to payment of all Club dues together with interest and any other penal charges as determined by the General Committee.
Rights and Privileges of the Members
Only Permanent Members shall have the right of attending meetings of the Club, or of voting on any matter affecting the interests or management of the Club.
